Saturday in Elizabeth

One highlight of Thanksgiving weekend in Fulton did not happen in Fulton. On Saturday, How came north with us to Elizabeth, Ill., for a lunch at Shark's Roadhouse with the Libertyville Hollands, who came out to visit Pops' mother. Pops turned 57 Nov. 30, and Great-Grandma Holland turns 81 Dec. 7, so in addition to celebration Thanksgiving with copious amounts of fried food, we also enjoyed a small birthday celebration.

Adding to the fun was the coincidence of being at Shark's the same time as Pops' Aunt Shirley, and her daughter Suzette and her family, who later that day were heading back to Minneapolis after a week in northwest Illinois. A few other cousins stopped by while we were there — it was a regular Holland hootenanny.
